Teaching

You can be a doubleweaver too!

Whether you want to weave textiles that are twice (or more!) as wide as your loom, whether you are interested in exploring the sculptural possibilities of doubleweave, or whether you wish you could create your own works of textile art, I can teach you the techniques that you need in a very logical and straightforward way that has been successful for thousands of my students. In the nearly 40 years that I have specialized in exploring doubleweave I have developed a number of systems and techniques that take the mystery out of how doubleweave works, while putting all of its magic at your fingertips. I love opening up the world of doubleweave and all its endless possibilities to my students, as well as my approaches to working with color and geometric design. In the words of a few of my students -

“What a delight it has been to study and learn under your tutelage. You are an exceptional teacher and I feel very privileged to have had the experience of your guidance. You have opened up yet another amazing aspect of weaving for me and I can’t wait to explore when I get back to my loom. Thanks to you I have fallen in love with doubleweave!”
- Adah, IA

“I have been sharing with anyone who showed the least bit of interest how much I enjoyed the workshop and how very special Jennifer, as a teacher, is. As a former teacher I feel I know a great teacher, and she is.”
- Ruth, VA

“Both of your classes were the most informational and tip-filled classes I have ever taken. The delivery information was explicit and understandable. My mind is filled with ideas for projects!”
- Cheryl, CA

“Jennifer was just amazing and I feel genuinely very lucky to have been in her workshop. She covered so much information but I didn’t walk away feeling overloaded, and she made it all seem so effortless and understandable. She took all the fear out of doublecloth.”
- Kay, UK
